Dortmund seeks revenge against the Ajax quartet

The German football team, Borussia Dortmund, seeks to avenge its 4-0 loss to Ajax in the Champions League when they meet on Wednesday again.

“I’m pretty sure we’ll show a very different face,” defender Mats Hummels told reporters on Tuesday.

He added: We want to play better than we showed in the first round match, and here in our stadium we want to play as if we wanted to win from the start of the match.

Coach Marcus Rose had made a similar statement, saying: We must play better and more courageous football than we did in Amsterdam. Once we get the ball they can’t hurt us.

He stressed: We were worried and upset about the first round match. After our recent victories, we should enter tomorrow’s match with more confidence, referring to the three victories that the team achieved locally since the loss in Amsterdam.

Dortmund still has some problems due to injuries, as Erling Haaland is the most prominent absentee from the team.

Ajax leads Group C with nine points, and it can reserve its place in the playoffs if it beats Dortmund, who has six points and is not likely to lose any other points.
