French Karim Benzema led his Real Madrid team to a 2-1 victory over Shakhtar Donetsk, Ukraine, on Wednesday, in the fourth round of Group D of the European Champions League.
The match witnessed Real Madrid’s 1,000th goal in the history of its Champions League participation.
Benzema scored the historic goal for Real Madrid in the 14th minute, before Fernando equalized in the 39th minute.
In the 61st minute, Benzema scored his second goal and the second for Real Madrid.
