With three clean goals .. Al-Ittihad crosses Al-Fateh and regains the top of the league


Ittihad Jeddah regained its lead after swept its guest Al-Fateh 3-0 in the confrontation hosted by Prince Abdullah Al-Faisal Stadium, while Al-Taawon continued its awakening by achieving its second victory over its host Al-Ittifaq 3-1, in the 11th stage of the Mohammed bin Salman Professional Cup League, on Thursday.

Al Ittihad took advantage of the loss of leaders Damak against its host Al Hilal 2-0 to move away from it by two points.

The match witnessed an advantage for Al Ittihad, which waited until the 35th minute, when its Brazilian striker Romarinho scored the first goal through a penalty kick.

Al-Ittihad continued its attack, and its Brazilian player Igor Cornado scored the second goal in the 37th minute, when he skillfully penetrated the Al-Fateh defense and hit the ball past the Ukrainian goalkeeper Maxim Koval.

In the second half, Al-Fateh received a strong blow after 4 minutes, when its Moroccan defender Marouane Saadane was sent off for receiving a second yellow card.

Al-Ittihad intensified its attack, and Brazilian striker Romarinho managed to score the third and final goal for his team at the 70th minute.

The match witnessed the expulsion of Al-Ittihad defender Ziad Al-Sahafi at the 77th minute after he entered the elbow on Al-Fath defender Nawaf Al-Bushel.

Before the end of the match, Al-Ittihad player Abdulelah Al-Maliki missed the opportunity to score the fourth goal after missing a penalty kick at the 90+5 minute.

With this result, Al-Ittihad’s balance rose to 23 points to lead the standings, two points ahead of Damak, the runner-up, and Al-Fateh remained on its previous score of 12 points, to fall to the tenth place temporarily.

At Prince Muhammad Bin Fahd Stadium in Dammam, Al Taawun continued its revival after winning 3-1 against its host, Al-Ittifaq.

Al-Taawoun played a remarkable match, as it scored the first goal after two minutes through its Brazilian defender Iago Santos, who turned his colleague Tariq Abdullah’s cross head into the Al-Ettifaq box.

Al-Taawoun was forced to complete the match with ten players after Brazilian player Sandro Manuel was sent off after 8 minutes for his strong entry on Al-Ittifaq player Sanusi Hawsawi.

Al-Ettifaq responded and managed to score the equalizer at the 23rd minute through Tunisian player Naim Saliti, who received a distinctive pass from his Moroccan colleague Walid Azzaro to hit the ball into the net.

In the second half, Al-Taawoun continued its advantage, and its player, Abdul Malik Al-Ayeri, managed to score the second goal in the 66th minute, after he fired a powerful ball from outside the penalty area, which settled in the net of the agreement.

At the 90+3 minute, Al-Taawoun striker Leander Toamba scored the third goal in a clever way after receiving a long pass from fellow Brazilian goalkeeper Cassio to hit the ball from outside the penalty area and into the agreement net.

With this result, Al-Taawun’s balance increased to 10 points, advancing to 12th place, and Al-Ettifaq remained on its previous score of 10 points, dropping to 13th place.
